Yacht charter Göcek

Destination

Göcek

Turkey · Turkish Aegean

Göcek Bay is a cluster of twelve islands creating a sheltered, almost lake-like sailing area — widely considered one of the calmest and most beginner-friendly charter grounds in the Mediterranean.

Göcek – The Quiet Heart of the Lycian Coast

Göcek has established itself as an exclusive sailing destination that consistently avoids mass tourism. There are no noisy hotels on the waterfront and no overcrowded beaches. Instead you find six well-equipped marinas (including D-Marin Göcek), a relaxed townscape and direct access to the most beautiful anchorages on the Turkish Riviera.

The Twelve Islands of Göcek

Around Göcek Bay lie twelve islands (Onikiadalar), all within easy reach by sailing boat. The largest, Tersane Island, holds the ruins of a Byzantine church. Boynuz Bükü, Yassıca and Kızıl Ada offer beautiful sandy beaches and clear water, perfect for snorkelling and anchoring.

Further east, Fethiye Bay awaits with the ghost town of Kayaköy and Butterfly Valley (Kelebekler Vadisi) by Ölüdeniz beach. The Lycian Coast is rich in ancient sites: Kayaköy, Tlos and the rock-cut Lycian tombs near Dalyan are all day-trip destinations.

Göcek as a Turning Point of the Blue Voyage

Many passages from Bodrum end or begin in Göcek. D-Marin Göcek is one of the most modern marinas in Turkey, with excellent infrastructure, restaurants and full yacht services. Clearance (clearing in) is straightforward in Göcek.

FAQ

Questions about Göcek

How many marinas are there in Göcek?

Göcek has six marinas: D-Marin Göcek, Club Marina, Skopea Marina, Göcek Yat Limanı, Göcek Marina and ISY Marina. This makes Göcek one of the most densely marina-equipped coastal towns on the Turkish Riviera.

Can you sail from Göcek to Fethiye?

Yes, Fethiye is only about 15 nautical miles east of Göcek and makes a short passage. Fethiye Bay offers further anchorages, and the town centre of Fethiye with its Lycian sarcophagus is well worth a visit.

Is Göcek suitable for families with children?

Very much so: the bays around Göcek are well sheltered, and the water is shallow and warm. The short legs between the islands do not overtax children. Göcek itself is a quiet, safe little town.
