Yacht charter Kotor

Destination

Kotor

Montenegro · Adriatic

The Bay of Kotor is one of the most dramatic sailing backdrops on the Adriatic: a fjord reaching deep inland, framed by steeply rising mountains. Porto Montenegro in Tivat is one of the Adriatic's most modern marinas and an ideal base for trips.

Sailing in the Bay of Kotor

The Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska) is geologically unique: four interlinked bays form a natural fjord that stretches up to 28 kilometres inland. The Lovćen and Orjen mountains rise to over 1,800 metres directly from the water. The light that settles on the limestone cliffs in the evening is unforgettable.

Porto Montenegro and the Bays

Porto Montenegro in Tivat is the heart of Montenegrin charter operations. The luxurious marina offers state-of-the-art infrastructure, restaurants, boutiques and a well-equipped yacht service. From here you can explore the inner bays of the gulf: Risan with its Roman mosaics, picturesque Perast with the island church of Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Škrpjela), and finally the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Kotor.

Beyond the gulf lies the open Adriatic: the coast towards Dubrovnik offers further anchorages, and the Montenegrin riviera with Bar and Budva is worth a detour.

Clearing In and Formalities

Montenegro is not an EU member; clearing in takes place at Herceg Novi, Bar or Tivat. The authorities are professional and the fees are moderate. Many Croatian charter companies allow departure to Montenegro.
