Destination
Zadar is the gateway to northern Dalmatia and the starting point for trips to Kornati National Park and the Zadar island region. Marina Zadar sits centrally and offers ideal conditions for families and beginners.
Zadar is one of Croatia's oldest cities, combining ancient heritage with a modern outlook. The Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun installation on the harbour quay are world-famous works of art. Marina Zadar is well placed for excursions to the northern Dalmatian islands.
The Zadar region includes more than 200 islands, islets and reefs. Ugljan and Pašman are the nearest and can be reached by ferry, but arriving by water is far more rewarding. The island of Dugi Otok, with the emerald-green Telašćica Nature Park and its salt lakes, is a highlight of any trip.
The Kornati National Park lies only 20–30 nautical miles from Zadar. The archipelago's 89 islands offer secluded anchorages, clear water and dramatic rock formations. A national park fee is payable.
Compared with Split and Dubrovnik, Zadar is much less crowded. Charter yachts are cheaper and the harbours are quieter. Zadar International Airport offers direct access from Germany and Austria. Families appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and the shallow, easily accessible anchorages.
