Chartering a Yacht with Your Dog — What to Consider
Not Every Operator Allows Pets
Pets aren't automatically allowed on every charter yacht — this should be clarified at the time of inquiry, since not every owner/operator agrees to it.
Check Entry Requirements
For international destinations (e.g. within the EU), an EU pet passport with valid rabies vaccination is required; destinations outside Europe often have stricter requirements.
Equipment on Board
Non-slip mats for the deck and cockpit, plenty of shade, and a dedicated life jacket for the dog significantly improve safety and comfort.
Frequently asked questions
Which destinations are especially dog-friendly?
Destinations with many accessible beaches for shore time, such as Croatia or the Ionian Islands, tend to work better than destinations with mostly steep rocky coastlines.
