Charter Basics
Yacht Charter for Solo Travelers and Small Groups
Cabin Charter
Instead of renting a whole boat, some operators let you book just a single cabin on a larger yacht — ideal for solo travelers who still want company on board.
Small Boats for Couples or Pairs
Compact sailing yachts starting around 26 feet are chartable from as little as $1,800/week — often surprisingly affordable for two people, especially in shoulder season.
Flotilla Sailing
In flotilla sailing, several smaller boats travel together with a lead boat — a great way to meet new people while still having your own boat.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum number of participants for a charter?
No, in principle even a single person or a couple can fully charter a small boat — the full charter price simply needs to be covered.
