Best Time to Sail the Caribbean — Seasonal Calendar
Dry Season: December through April
The best and most popular travel time: stable trade winds, little rain, low hurricane risk. Prices are correspondingly higher during this period.
Hurricane Season: June through November
Mostly avoided by charter operators — elevated storm risk, with many boats hauled out of the water or relocated to protected harbors during this time.
Shoulder Season: May
A transition month that often still offers good conditions with noticeably lower prices than peak season.
Frequently asked questions
Can the Caribbean be chartered in summer too?
Technically possible, but not recommended due to the hurricane risk between June and November — most charter fleets significantly reduce their offerings during this time.
